Overview

In this rare and special 9D8N, on-the-move adventure, a wonderfully remote destination is pushed even further off of the beaten path: to a landscape serendipitously spotted by our on-the-ground partners from a plane, the sight leaving them wholly entranced. They knew that they had to return on the ground to explore the region's virtually untouched terrain, composed of sweeping steppes, lakes, forests and towering, ‘singing’ sand dunes. And now you can too!

After dipping your toes in Mongolia’s colourful past and present in the capital Ulaanbaatar, a scenic, morning flight will land you in remotest Zavkhan for a week of the nomadic. Hike beneath hallowed peaks, ride horses and kayak or swim in an immaculate freshwater lake. Meet the handful of families to call this magical, cut-off world ‘home sweet home’, and for whom each mountain, stream and stretch of blue sky has its time-honoured deity to revere. Cap off your last day of glamping in the company of a shaman at the foot of a sacrosanct, glacier-capped peak – having long drawn a trickle of hardy pilgrims, Mount Otgontenger is among Mongolia’s three sacred summits.

Your 12D11N Peruvian voyage will launch from Lima, the vibrant capital city, where you’ll embark on foodie adventures and a private, curator-led walk through the most regarded art museum in Lima. Following a flight to Cusco, you’ll set out for the Sacred Valley, wandering the colourful Quechua market, lunching with locals and exploring the nearby ruins.

More Incan wonders await – along with a special, time-honoured Andean ceremony – at picturesque Ollantaytambo, from where you’ll board the scenic Vistadome train to a trailhead along the Inca Trail. As reward for a short but spectacular hike, you’ll arrive at one of the world’s most celebrated mountaintop wonders, the fabled and truly breath-taking ruins of Machu Picchu. Spending the night at the only hotel on-site, the tastefully appointed Sanctuary Lodge, you’ll explore the great citadel at leisure before embarking on the luxury Hiram Bingham train, a once-in-a-lifetime experience from which you’ll alight in historic and cosmopolitan Cusco.

South America’s cultural capital and its oldest surviving city, Cusco packs plenty of gems to admire, among them the mysterious stonework marvels of Sacsayhuamán. Enjoy classic Peruvian fare at the city’s finest venues and learn to appreciate pisco, Peru’s beloved brandy, before boarding a flight to return to Lima.

Who This Is For

This journey is great for individuals and couples who are eager to step foot in a once-in-a-lifetime journey in Mongolia. Made for those who are in search for adventure to an unparalleled destination.
