Travel Meets Fashion: Blue Sky Escapes X Lisa Von Tang

On a balmy evening one Friday night in August, a group of very special guests (and a drag queen named Tiara) boarded a bumboat — a small boat or water taxi that’s used for quick transport and tours on the Singapore River — and set off for the dock at the Asian Civilisations Museum. From there, guests made their way to Smoke & Mirrors, a glorious rooftop bar atop one of the city’s most historically and culturally significant icons, the National Gallery.

The occasion? A travel-meets-fashion affair with a showcase of Blue Sky Escapes’ immersive travel experiences and the launch of Lisa Von Tang’s new Travel Bomber Jacket line.

Amongst the brand’s new capsule collection of jackets tailored for travel and a first look at its “Fast Love, Slow Living” line, guests coised up on our Bedouin carpets and mingled around our Africa-inspired booth to discover how Blue Sky Escapes whets the appetite of our curious travellers. Our Insider, Stephanie Bovis was also on-hand to speak to guests about our upcoming holistic retreat in Nepal this November.

No detail was overlooked and no expense spared as guests were treated to a sensory performance of our bartender whipping up cocktails from around the world, stood entranced by the body movements dance meditation led by Sophie Apsara, got their dose of glamour with skin decorations from jagua tattoo applications and an exotic perfume experience by scent connoisseur, Hiromi Kwok — all under a canopy of moving lights and filmography of our travel experiences put together just for the soirée.
